THE POWER OF ONE

ONE LIFE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

One SONG can spark a moment
One FLOWER can wake the dream
One TREE can start a forest
One BIRD can herald spring

One SMILE begins a friendship
One HANDCLASP lifts a soul
One STAR can guide a ship at sea
One WORD can frame the goal

One VOTE can change a nation
One SUNBEAM lights a room
One CANDLE wipes out darkness
One LAUGH will conquer gloom

One STEP must start each journey
One WORD must start a prayer
One HOPE will raise our spirits
One TOUCH can show you care

One VOICE can speak with wisdom
One HEART can know what’s true
AND
ONE LIFE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
COULD IT BE CHRIST THROUGH YOU?

One life – that of the Lord Jesus Christ –
made the biggest difference possible.

That one life (and one death and one resurrection)
made it possible for sinful mankind to be reconciled to a holy God.

That same life now inhabits those
who have acknowledged God’s gift of grace

and have been adopted into God’s own family
as His blood-bought children.

That same life, living within us and through us
wants to make a difference
in the lives of those with whom we come into contact.

Am I available?
Am I ready to be used to reach others?

“Lord, I believe time is running out.
I only have the “now” to reach others with Your message
of love and redemption and security.
Take me, mould me, use me; wherever, whenever, whatever.”

About meetingintheclouds

I am Cloudwatcher, a 76 year old Christian lady, happily married to a wonderful man for over 50 years. We have five wonderful sons, all with at least one University degree and in top positions in their chosen fields. One son is still single but four have found perfect wives and they have given us five lovely grandchildren. I was born in England and while I'm proud of my English heritage, I am doubly proud to be a true-blue, fair-dinkum Aussie. My husband and I are committed Christians whose first priority is to love and serve our risen Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. My life story will tell of my journey from abuse to peace. I suffered 22 years of abuse, being constantly told I was totally evil and an ugly freak: no one would ever want me, so I might as well do the world a favour and kill myself.

May we all stand as a Ministry of “one”, making a difference in the lives of others, to the glory of God! Angela, another beautiful post. May the Lord continue to use you for His glory. Thank you for making a difference in my life. God bless!

    • Thanks Paulette. The ministry of encouragement is very important as the body of Christ is built up, but how I yearn to see us being used more and more to “make a difference” in the lives of those who do not know the joy and peace of a life in Christ. ‘Lord, use us to reach them with Your love’

This is soooo encouraging, Mentor Angela! :) Because of Him, each one thing can make a difference. God bless you as you let nothing stop you today, from doing whatever it is that He asks you to do! We may not always know now how much of a difference it can make! love and prayers!

    • Debbie, thank you. Your “let nothing stop you today” is timely. This morning at Church I was asked to do something I was most hesitant about. Your words hit the spot.
May we all be ready, at all times, to obey His call.
