LET GO!

An old man and his grandson happily fed some doves on the window sill of his home.  After feeding they flew and perched on a cable outside the window.

The grandfather told the boy, “You see that cable?  It carries a heavy current of electricity. It is carefully insulated at every pole and is beyond the reach of humans.   If I could reach out far enough to touch that wire, death would be as swift as a lightning strike.”

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

It was everyone’s nightmare. It was January 1982.

Edmund Gravely and his wife Janice were flying from the Rocky Mount-Wilson Airport in North Carolina to Statesboro, Georgia.  61 year old Edmund was an experienced pilot.

At 15,000 feet Edmund Gravely DIED at the controls of his small plane, a Mooney M20.

The Atacama Desert occupies 40,600 square miles in Chile, between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Some weather stations in the Atacama have NEVER received rainfall and the average for the whole desert is 1mm per year (0.04 inches).

ABANDONED – but still cherished?

A pastor visited a woman who had been confined to bed, and when talking about her family, she asked him to get an envelope of old photos from her drawer.

He found the letter under a beautiful folded tablecloth. He asked her about the cloth and she invited him to look at it.  He marvelled at the hand-made lace and the delicate embroidery. It was exquisite! It must have taken years to make.
