When a wood sculptor wants to create a work of art, he starts with a log and begins to fashion it with a sharp chisel.
He meticulously cuts it, shapes it, scrapes it, sands it, digs again, cuts again etc until he has his finished product. The once unattractive log, which might otherwise have ended being burned in the fireplace, has now become a beautiful masterpiece that can be displayed with pride by the one who fashioned it.
